CanalPro Jeni - EDM heat-treated instruments and new “Jenì” automatic movement: how root canal anatomy can guide the endodontic shaping procedures

Root canal anatomy variability required different instruments and techniques to use NiTi files in order to respect the original anatomy as much as possible.
Shaping procedures should be minimally invasive and easily repeatable.
For these reasons, instruments bent by the root canal curvatures, like Hyflex EDM heat-treated Nickel-Titanium instruments, allow the clinician to perform safe anatomically driven preparations even for highly curved canals.
Moreover, different kinematics to activate NiTi files have disadvantages also: continuous rotation does not protect the NiTi instruments to the torsional fracture; reciprocation could transport or extrude debris apically.
The new automatic “Jenì” self-driving mode changes continuous rotation in other different movements shifting from one to another one depending on the difficulties of advancement into root canals for the NiTi instruments. Moreover, the new automatic “Jenì” movement could guide the clinician in the choice of the right moment for the irrigation depending on difficult anatomies or too much debris accumulated.
The paradigm shift in the use of EDM heat-treated file activated by “Jenì” self-driving movement and its "shaping guided irrigation" controlled by the root canal anatomy will be discussed.

  • To suggest clinical uses and applications of heat-treated HyFlex EDM rotary files properties.
  • Discuss the benefits of “Jenì” self-driving mode and its “shaping guided irrigation”.
  • To suggest a minimal shaping procedure following the different root canal anatomies.
